**To write a record to a stream**

The following ``put-record`` example writes data to a stream.  The data is encoded in Base64 format. ::

    aws firehose put-record \
        --delivery-stream-name my-stream \
        --record '{"Data":"SGVsbG8gd29ybGQ="}' 

Output::

    {
